Kingston Council is promoting grants for Electric Vehicles and associated infrastructure as part of its Sustainable September initiative.
The council and community groups have come together for a month of events and activities that promote sustainability, celebrate Kingston’s biodiversity and help everyone play a part in tackling climate change.
From bat walks to energy talks, there is plenty to take part in. Visit the website for details.
The council is also promoting the Plug-in van and truck grant which provides money towards the cost of purchasing ultra-low emission vehicles as follows:
- Small vans (2,500kg and less), 35% of the purchase price, up to £2,500.
- Large vans (up to 4,250kg), 35% of the purchase price, up to £5,000.
- Small trucks (up to 12,000kg), 20% of the purchase price, up to £16,000.
In addition, The Workplace Charging Scheme covers 75% of the total costs of purchasing and installing EV charge points for staff use in staff parking areas.
The EV infrastructure grant for staff and fleets can be used in conjunction with the Workplace Charging Scheme and funds electrical infrastructure that will increase the number of charge points within a staff parking area at a later date, or where delivering charging points involves upgrading the existing electrical infrastructure.
