Coughlans Bakery drawing customers to Barwell from across Chessington
Barwell’s position in the community is getting a great boost with the new Coughlans Bakery drawing customers from the wider Chessington area, as well as the business park.
Priding itself on fresh, handmade artisan products, hot / cold food and barista style coffee, Coughlans is driving footfall to the park at weekends, in addition to its weekday customers from the Barwell businesses.
Owner Sean Coughlan said: “We have been very welcomed into the community, both at Barwell and Chessington. We’ve been unexpectedly busy at weekends. There was already some footfall to the gym, so we’ve benefited from that but also, with most of the businesses on the park closed for the weekend, residents don’t have to worry about parking as there’s plenty of it.”
A chance encounter led Sean to Barwell. While travelling with his property manager who needed to run an errand, Sean saw the park for the first time and decided it was the perfect location for the new bakery.
“We are always looking in new areas, I’ve always liked Chessington and we are already nearby with shops in Stoneleigh and Epsom. Colin [Lawrence-Waterhouse from park owner, Aviva Investors] has been incredibly helpful,” he added.
