10 Dec COULD YOUR BUSINESS HELP KICKSTART A YOUNG PERSON’S CAREER?
Kingston Chamber of Commerce is inviting Barwell businesses to join the new Kickstart Scheme and create six-month, high-quality work placements for 16 to 24-year-olds.
Under the government scheme, businesses are asked to offer placements in return for funding which is available for each job to cover 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions. There is also £1,500 per job placement available for setup costs, support and training. Find out more here.
Direct applications to the government must be for a minimum of 30 job placements. If a single employer cannot provide this many job placements, they can join a group of other employers and nominate a representative for the group to submit the application, or register their interest with a representative body who can apply on their behalf.
Kingston Chamber of Commerce is an approved Gateway representative for organisations wishing to offer fewer than 30 places. The Chamber is asking businesses to complete a form as an expression of interest in the scheme. Click here.
