Dernier & Hamlyn have crafted beautiful outdoor lanterns fit for a king, not far from their Barwell factory.
The bespoke lighting manufacturers carried out the installation at Hampton Court Palace, King Henry VIII’s Tudor home, just a few miles from the Kingston-Upon-Thames bridge.
“We made these lovely outdoor lanterns based on our archived drawings as we made the original lights 25 years ago. All made from our London factory,” Dernier & Hamlyn said.
The company has vast experience with lighting for royal residences having restored the chandeliers and torchères in the ballroom at Buckingham Palace as well renovating heritage lighting for other royal residences including Windsor Castle, Balmoral, St James’s Palace, Hampton Court Palace, Clarence House, Kensington Palace and Tower of London.
The work combines techniques perfected since the company was established in 1888 with new technologies and lighting methods that meet the varied requirements for public and private spaces in royal residences.
Dernier & Hamlyn added: “We are extremely proud that we are one of the few companies that is able to bring a whole host of unique skills to bear in our work for The Royal Household.”
