Dernier & Hamlyn’s work on restoration of historic Camden Town Hall wins acclaim

Dernier & Hamlyn’s work on the restoration of Grade II listed Camden Town Hall has featured in a conservation journal.

The team was asked by TClarke, one of the UK’s largest electrical contractors, to refurbish more than 60 heritage lighting fittings and manufacture new reproduction pieces as part of the extensive renovation of the hall by global real estate firm, Lendlease. The Grade II listed building was constructed in 1937 and is undergoing a four-year restoration programme.

Mark Pye, Dernier & Hamlyn’s Head of Production, said: “This was a complex project further complicated by the interruptions caused by a global pandemic. As always, our team rose to the challenges we encountered and we are very proud to have contributed to the restoration of this historically-important building in the heart of the capital city.”

The project was recently featured in the Conservation & Heritage Journal & Directory Issue 38.
