Corinthian-Casuals Football Club have thanked their supporters for helping them smash their £10,000 COVID-19 fundraiser target.
The crowdfunding campaign finished at the end of June and excess funds went towards the club’s running costs, which are mounting because of the loss of income during the coronavirus crisis.
A statement on the club’s website said: “What’s taken us by surprise is the wonderful comments that have been left by many of you who’ve donated. It’s truly humbling to read so many well-wishes from across the globe. This is what it means to be part of such a wonderful and historic football club.”
It added: “We can’t wait to get back to playing football and being a hub for our community to get together and enjoy themselves once again.”
