Kingston Council’s Culture Services are launching their first ever virtual summer events programme for families.

The programme will run through the holidays and will include baby rhyme times, interactive history workshops, crime writing courses, music lessons, wellbeing workshops, virtual festivals and the annual Summer Reading Challenge.

Cllr Rebekah Moll, Portfolio Holder for Culture at Kingston Council, said: “We are excited to bring this programme of activities for everyone to enjoy during the school holidays.

The Virtual Culture Club Summer Events Programme has been put together by our amazing colleagues in Kingston’s Library Service, Music Service, Heritage Service, Arts Service, and Kingston Adult Education.

“Our teams have been working very hard to bring fun educational activities to families during lockdown who have had no access to our usual classes and services. We hope these activities will help families stay connected during the school holidays and inspire children and young people to learn something new.

“We also continue to focus on mental health and wellbeing, so there will be several wellbeing workshops organised during the next couple of weeks.”

Sessions will be available to book via Zoom, and there will be video tutorials and activity sheets available for download. Click here for the programme.
