Two new mental health signposting leaflets launched by Kingston Giving and supported by Barwell Business Park, are receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from the local community.
The leaflets “How are you doing?” for adults and “What’s up?” for young people – are designed to help residents navigate both NHS and local mental health services. Each leaflet provides easy-to-follow signposting to support options including helplines, community hubs, and early intervention services.
Lucie Moore, Development Manager at Kingston Giving, said: “What a positive response we are having to the new leaflets! Lots of local organisations have contacted us for hard copies, and it has been distributed through Kingston’s Libraries and community spaces. I also had a great meeting with Kingston University, and they have shared the digital versions across all student campuses. It’s clear this is something the community really needs.”
Although Kingston Giving cannot directly reduce waiting times for mental health services, the leaflets aim to support people while they wait – by helping them “wait well.” The resources included are focused on early access, community-based support, and promoting overall well-being.
This initiative reflects Kingston Giving’s wider commitment to improving mental health and well-being throughout the borough. By connecting residents with the right support at the right time, the organisation hopes to make a lasting and meaningful difference.
