22 Mar New branding for Marathon following a year of “extensive growth”
Marathon Professional Services has rebranded to Marathon Managed Services with a new logo and website after experiencing “extensive growth” in 2020 – with revenue increasing four-fold.
Specialists in business IT, the company moved to Barwell Business Park at the beginning of the year after its team expanded to meet growing demand from customers.
Michael Mudie, formerly a Sales Lead at Avanade, has been recently appointed to spearhead sales efforts as Sales Director, and there are more key appointments in the pipeline.
Iain Maclean, Marathon CEO, said: “We have experienced extensive growth in the last 12 months; revenue is up four-fold, and our mix of business has been evolving. In addition to working with resellers we have grown our direct portfolio to represent more than half of our business, working with major law firms, business services and not-for-profit clients. We felt the time was right to launch a fresh look and feel to reflect our changing position in the market, and our aspirations for the future.”
Marathon closed out 2020 by achieving ISO 27001 accreditation – the international standard that lays out the specifications for implementing an information security management system – across the whole organisation, which is rare in the sector as many organisations opt to certify parts of their company directly related to security rather than the whole business. This year Marathon is off to a strong start having been awarded Microsoft Gold Partner status.
Iain said: “We are proud of achieving both ISO 27001 and Microsoft Gold Partner status in short order. We want to ensure customers trust us for our knowledge and expertise and how we can apply these to their business, with security baked in across the board.”
He added: “We consider ourselves to be masters at working virtually using Microsoft Teams, but we can’t wait to be together again in person when it is safe to do so. There is a real family feel at Marathon, so having a fantastic new space where we can collaborate as a team and hold customer events is really important to us.”
