02 Mar Prosthetics and orthotics specialist joins Barwell
Barwell Business Park and Aviva Investors are delighted to announce Opcare as the newest occupier on the estate.
Opcare, an innovator in prosthetics, orthotics, posture and mobility devices, is moving into Unit D.
The company was founded in the 1980s and Opcare’s current CEO, Michael O’Byrne, continues to drive the services forward.
Having spent many years as a prosthetist he realised that the use of CAD/CAM (computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) technologies could improve the quality of the socket fit and be more efficient.
In the 1990s, he brought the Tracer CAD system to the UK: a portable computer–aided design system which creates a 3D model of a patient’s limb in minutes.
Today, Opcare remains a leading exponent and supplier of 3D laser imaging in the UK, using the latest CAD/CAM technology in combination with its robotic seven-axes carver.
Colin Lawrence-Waterhouse, Asset Manager Aviva Investors, said: “We are delighted to welcome Opcare to Barwell Business Park, yet another business that is an outstanding specialist in its field.
“We are seeing a surge of demand from hi-tech businesses now, most of which are being drawn to Barwell by the quality of the refurbished space, the business park surroundings and the strength of the location. We’ve put a further two units under offer in February to similar occupiers and hope to have more announcements soon.”
Only Unit E remains available in A-F block following the letting to Opcare. The unit extends to 2,345 sq ft and is ready for immediate occupation. If you are looking to grow on Barwell, further information of this and our other available units can be found on the Park website.
