RENTAL FURNITURE REUSE CAN REDUCE WASTE TO LANDFILL

During National Recycle Week, Roomservice by CORT urged tenants, landlords and developers to consider the role rental furniture can play in reducing waste to landfill.

The company offers a huge range of furniture from beds and sofas, to electrical items, linens and appliances.

In her blog on the topic, Senior Marketing Manager Laura Shepherd, said: “Have you ever considered furniture’s role in re-use and recycling? A British Heart Foundation survey of 2,000 first-time buyers and renters last October revealed one-third of people had thrown away furniture that could have been sold or donated. These unwanted items often end up in landfill.”

She added: “Renting extends the life of every piece, keeping more furniture out of landfills and reducing the amount of greenhouse gas produced.”

At the end of its rental life, furniture is sold through the CORT Furniture Retail Shop at 28 Barwell Business Park.
