01 Aug Study trip to San Diego for Roomservice by Cort
Furniture rental business Roomservice by Cort went to San Diego for the mega-property conference, Apartmentalize.
More than 12,000 people attended the three-day event run by the National Apartment Association (NAA) from June 22 to 24, which saw 559 exhibitors spread out across one vast exhibition hall.
Opening introductions came from the NAA leadership, basketball legend and entrepreneur Earvin “Magic” Johnson who gave a keynote interview, while Hollywood icon Rob Lowe closed the event.
There were more than 100 educational sessions with insights into marketing, talent attraction and retention, leadership, resilience, operational efficiency, maintenance, sustainability, amenity planning, customer profiles and retention and much more.
In its blog, Roomservice by Cort said: “With US multifamily providers entering the UK market, high-rise concierge style renting has become the benchmark, however the US market is far more diverse with single family, garden style, mid and high-rise falling under the multifamily bracket.
“To gain an insight into multifamily housing, Roomservice by CORT and CORT (our US parent company) provided a study tour for UK delegates attending the NAA Apartmentalize conference in San Diego.
“We visited four very different properties and learned a huge amount from the property managers who were both knowledgeable and passionate about their properties.”
The company added its key takeaway from the event: “To make the most of the burgeoning rental market in the UK, owners and managers need to understand what makes a successful multifamily/buy to rent property. Younger generations of renters want more out of their living experience than just a place to sleep. They want flexibility, simplicity, sustainability, unique experiences and they want it all now!”
