25 Jan Superyachts win Dernier & Hamlyn fine praise
Dernier & Hamlyn’s stunning work on superyachts has secured the bespoke lighting company high acclaim in industry magazine spreads.
Superyacht News explains how Dernier & Hamlyn’s team of specialist designers and artisans are increasingly being called upon to create custom installations which add an extra “wow” factor to superyacht projects.
Michael Mulhall, director of Dernier & Hamlyn, said: “The proliferation of LED technology and its ability to be more versatile and customisable has allowed interior designers to be more creative with the light fittings they incorporate onboard superyachts.
“The opening of Asian supply chains in the last five-to-ten years has also meant there are a lot more similar products on the market. Bespoke lighting can be used to create uniqueness and really tailor a space according to the designer’s intent and inspiration.”
Winch Design called on Dernier & Hamlyn when tasked with creating bespoke interiors for the first hull of the new Amels 60 range, Come Together.
Featured in travel magazine, Starboard, the design is based on softened geometric angles combined with organically-inspired forms for a beachy and relaxed feel.
“Having worked with Dernier & Hamlyn previously, we knew we could call on them to design and manufacture bespoke lighting that would play a positive role in creating the interiors our client wanted,” Jim Dixon, Winch Design’s Managing Partner and Creative Director for Yachts & Aviation, told Starboard.
