31 Mar SUPPORT FOR BARWELL BUSINESSES THROUGH COVID-19
A number of economic interventions have been announced by the Government to assist businesses through this unprecedented time caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Government will cover up 80% of furloughed workers’ salaries, up to £2,500 a month, to safeguard workers from being made redundant, backdated to 1 March.
Businesses eligible for small business rate relief, rural rate belief or tapered relief will receive a £10,000 cash grant and up to £25,000 in grant funding is available for businesses in the retail, hospitality or leisure sectors with premises with a rateable value of less than £51,000 – who will also have a 12-month business rate holiday automatically applied.
VAT payments from 20 March to 30 June have been automatically deferred to the end of the year and up to £5million in loan funding is available for SMEs. For more information, visit www.british-business-bank.co.uk
